Spring Photo Shoot

How lucky am I to have an awesome sister-in-law who also happens to be an awesome photographer?!

I agree. Pretty damn lucky. So a few weeks ago, we headed out to our super secret location to get some updated shots of the family. We haven’t done this in two years due to C being born, and then poor planning. However, the wait was totally worth it. These are just a few of my favorites.

Oh, who am I kidding. They are all my favorites. I struggled to decide what to post, because they all capture everyone in the family so perfectly.

Thank you Adrian! You are amazing!

Climbing 101

I thought I had a climber in Munchkin #2. Turns out what I thought was considered climbing was nothing compaired to what Munchkin #3 can do. Since this little video was taken, he’s learned how to get on to the kitchen table and is just shy of mastering the countertop climb. Today I caught him trying to scale up the side of the oven. We are in so much trouble. ;)

Confessions

What’s the password?

You can’t read any further without saying the password.

I’m serious.

Stop reading.

This information is top-secret.

Really.

Please?

Blargh.

Ok, so it’s not really top-secret. In fact, if you know me, you probably already know these things, and like the awesome family you are, you still love me. If you happen to not be family, I’m sure you’ll still love me too. You know, because I’m awesome. :)

Anyway, read on, and next time know the dang password.

Todays Confessions

(brought to you because I couldn’t think of anything else to write about, yet felt the need to write. Don’t worry, I didn’t spill all the beans. A girls gotta have some mystery)

- I won’t hand wash dishes unless I absolutely have to. I rinse and scrub them off with hot water, and then they sit in the sink until I can put them in the dishwasher. Meaning the left side of the sink is almost always full of dishes.

- I am horrible at being consistent with this blog. (I know you know that, but I want you to know, that I know, that you know.)

- If you need socks, there is a basket (or two) up in my bedroom. Feel free to sift through it to find some that match.

- I wish I could let loose and just have fun more often without worrying…about everything. Inhibitions suck sometimes. (The Man would correct that and say all the time, not just sometimes.)

- I sometimes feel that if I was given the government budget for one week. I could fix it.

- I’m a big picture type of person. I tend to have a hard time seeing the finer details in life.

- I wish I was a better Mom and Wife. I see a glimpse of that better person sometimes, but she never sticks around for long.

- I need to have some chocolate every. single. day. It’s a necessity for my sanity, and my families well-being.

- I sometimes want to just pack up and move somewhere else. (no, not Minnesota)

- I have ideas. Lots and lots of ideas. Much to the bane of The Man.

- I love puppies. Lately when I see a puppy, I have to immediately look away. Otherwise it may end up in my house, to stay. My resolve to wait till munchkin #3 turns two, is cracking.

- I love parties, party planning, crafting, creating, decorating, celebrating, festivals, and boutiques. Not everyone shares in my love of those things, or my style. Some think I go overboard, but I don’t let that stop me. I have ideas, people. Great ones.

Goose Egg

I had another Thank You post planned, but then last night happened.

So I send a THANK YOU to the reception people, the nurses, and the doctor at the urgent care center. Another big THANK YOU to my family for listening, offering help, and making me feel better.

And the BIGGEST THANK YOU of all, goes to my girls. I now know, that in a semi-emergency, they are able to handle themselves responsibly like big girls. They can take direction without complaining or fighting, put their shoes & coats on with lightning speed, sing on demand to their brother to distract him, and be patient when they are both hungry and tired.

Amazing, they are.

This is why we raced to urgent care, and let me just say the pictures don’t do this thing any justice at all. Plus, it looked twice the size and twice as worse last night. No joke.

When we first got there the nurse was sure we were going to be sent to Cardon because of the glassy eyes C was giving her, but the doctor thought different. There was no loss of consciousness, no puking, and he was acting normal. So we were sent home. With orders to not drive, but call 911 if he showed any out of the ordinary symptoms. (including but not limited to, vomiting, lethargy, and dizziness)

The rest of the night was spent constantly checking to make sure C hadn’t puked and was still breathing normally. So, I apologize if this post is a hot mess. It’s due to exhaustion.

The laundry basket is now banned. Yes, that’s how he earned his goose egg. It was upside down, he pushed it over to the entertainment center, climbed on top, and then fell off before he could actually get what he was after.

I’m already mentally preparing for all the ER trips we’ll probably be taking with him.

Sigh.

Welcome to the Circus!

This week in pre school, Anna and her friends learned all about animals, clowns, parades, and carousels. FootZ, the clown, joined in for the fun. Everyone dressed up. There was face painting, balloon animals and a magic show. To top it all off, they took their parade around the school for all the other grades to see. Here’s a little peek at her fun day.

Love is in the air…

I just made skirts for my girls. Yes. I. Did.

Ok, now that that is out-of-the-way,

let’s talk about Valentine’s Day.

Personally, I’m usually torn on the whole thing.

I absolutely hate the idea that we are required to show our love of one another on a specific day because someone else says so. In my world any day is a good day to show your love.

Then again, it’s kind of fun to have a day that’s all about hearts, love, hugs, & kisses. For everyone, of course. :)

You see? T-O-R-N

However, right now in this very minute…

I’m totally feelin’ the love.

Which is why we’ve been working on some Valentine’s Day decorations around here.

This garland is so simple to make, yet so cute. Plus, it requires NO SKILL, and if it’s not absolutely perfectly sewn or cut? No worries, it STILL looks great. (proof is in the pictures.)

What are your thoughts on the day of love?
